PhD position in “Machine Learning applied to Medical Imaging and OMICS in Breast Cancer”

Would you like to advance your career at the largest French-speaking research center in North America and engage in exciting research projects? The CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Center in Quebec City, Canada, provides an inspiring work environment that fosters creativity, knowledge exchange, and continuous growth.

We are inviting applications for a PhD student position at the CHU de Québec – Université Laval. The selected candidate will join the interdisciplinary team of our member Dr. Venkata Manem, and will join our efforts to quantify biological information from a compendium of OMICS and medical imaging (radiological and whole slide imaging) profiles by employing machine learning/deep learning approaches. Manem lab applies bioinformatics and machine learning approaches to investigate the molecular mechanisms of cancer, with the goal of developing data-driven personalized treatments.

Project title:

Discovery of multimodal biomarkers for breast cancer patients by integrating medical imaging, omics, and clinical profiles.

Responsibilities:

Develop computational pipelines from radiological and whole slide imaging data to predict risk, survival and recurrence
Perform statistical analyses to explore relationships between medical imaging features and omics data.
Build multimodal frameworks to predict biological and clinical endpoints.
The student will be responsible, under the supervision of the research director and his group, for
completing the research project, preparing presentations for scientific conferences and writing scientific articles for publications.
